This was our glimpse this morning,
Kaisha and I,
as we were leaving for Seminary at
6:00 A.M.
That's crazy, you say?
Well, thanks to our "fabulous" school district
the high schoolers will begin school at
7:24 am instead of 8:31
(a change, one month into school)
~
Something about:
"more students than we planned for"
and
"we still don't have enough buses"
and
"the school time schedules are too close
for the buses to get the kids there on time"
oh, and
(my personal favorite)
"we don't know what we're doing".
~
Blah, Blah, Blah!
Why this wasn't figured out BEFORE
school started is beyond me.
And, the same thing happened
last year!
Could've learned something, you'd think!
~
Anyway, back to our morning!
Kaisha is now up at 5am to make
Seminary by 6:15.
It was a beautiful, clear blue sky
with a huge full moon.
Totally worth waking up so early!

We had a pretty uneventful weekend.
I attended a wonderful class
Saturday morning
(Defensive Driving - for that
speeding ticket the first week of school!
Oh, I haven't mentioned that before?
I was slowing down and only going 22
as the hood of the Suburban
crossed over into the school zone
but he caught me - jerk!
There is a "no tolerance policy"
so a ticket I received!
And this was the second day of school!)
While I was gone, Kaisha went to a volleyball
tournament, John and the kids
cleaned the garage and fixed bikes,
and then we went to McD's
for lunch.
Kaisha spent the day with Tiffany.
Kam helped John fix the lawnmower
of a lady in our ward
and then mowed the lawn
for the FIRST TIME by himself!
Then, John and Kerianne
cooked dinner
(2 kinds of chicken on the grill - yum!)
We did hear from Wanda
that Uncle Lanny had a heart attack.
He is in our prayers for a quick
recovery.
~ ~ ~
Sunday was super busy:
I had my YW Presidency meeting,
then Kaisha & I went to ward choir
practice (first one in our new ward!),
then home for a quick lunch,
off to church,
(John had a ward conference
to go to after sacrement mtg),
then home to make a quick dinner
(bbq pork chops, pasta w/veggies,
corn, crescent rolls),
then John had stake meetings
and Kaisha had a youth meeting.
I do have to give
ALL the credit to Kerianne
for BBQing the pork chops!
I only helped to season one side
and then it was all her!
What a little chef she is becoming!
A day full of { meetings }
but a good day...

That really sucks for Kaisha! (and you!!) I would hate that. Sounds like you had a busy weekend. Good job to Keri for all the cooking! Does she want to come spend some time perfecting her culinary talent at my house????
