John and I flew up to Utah on Sat., Aug. 23 and surprised his family at the Hamblin Family Reunion. It was in Provo this year, at a park just above the temple - what a great view! It was so fun to see their faces when they finally noticed us - especially John's Mom! It was her birthday a couple days later so we told her it was an early b-day present :o) Her birthday would have also been her father's 100th birthday - pretty special! Uncle Lyman made his famous slush and Uncle Curt cooked up corn-on-the-cob. There was a silent auction, a ton of guessing jars, and a fun cake walk for the kids. It was neat to meet little "Kenadee" (spelled the way I wanted to spell it - oh well!). It had been several years since we'd seen a lot of the family so it was great to visit. Our kids stayed at home this time, since we are planning to fly up for Thanksgiving (only have so many free SW flights, ya know!).
