Back to school...

School's back in session! Yesterday & today have been great days: I've gone shopping in town (alone), done a little house cleaning, read my book, and I'll even admit that I haven't sat down once for a cat-nap! Kaisha had an orientation day yesterday, and found out that lockers are not in yet :( Hopefully by next week. She is trying out for volleyball this week after school. She will find out her fate on Friday! Kerianne had an awesome first day. She found all of her classes and even some old friends. She's been having fun organizing all her supplies. At Santa Rosa, Kameron has Ms. Young - and LOVES her. He has answered "Terrific" both days when asked how his day went. Good sign! Ms. Young is a bit older and more "seasoned", as I like to say. She's knows what's going on. Kennedi's teacher, on-the-other-hand, not so much!!! She has Miss Towne for 2nd grade. Kameron had Miss Towne for 2nd grade at Maricopa Elementary, and long-story-short, we had him moved. It was not a pleasant experience. We decided this year that we would be patient and give this gal the benefit of the doubt, that maybe a couple years experience under her belt would have done some good - but the call was made this morning to the principal to have Kennedi moved. It annoys me just a little when you have to fill out a crapload of paperwork and send it in on the first day, all for nothing. I had to indicate for both kids their after-school arrangements, and I chose to drive through and pick them up at the Ramada. Well, I wait in the mile-long line yesterday (and when the Suburban sits, the a/c doesn't work as well, so it was stinkin' hot after 15 minutes in line!) and almost get to the Ramada when a lady opens the door and asks if this is my child. There's Kennedi, upset and on the verge of tears. Miss Towne had sent her to the wrong place- to the front of the school for park & pick-up parents. Kennedi was nervous when she couldn't find Kameron and then when she saw me drive right by, leaving her! This lady picked up on it and asked her what was going on. Needless to say, I wasn't happy that I had wasted my time filling out two forms for Miss Towne reporting where Kennedi should go after school. Today was better, but John and I made the decision last night to forgo the nightmare that was the beginning of Kam's 2nd grade experience... We're keeping our fingers crossed for a great 2nd grade teacher :o)

Congratulations on school starting!! :-)
Glad that they had good first days- except for Kenners, I guess. I remember the hard time you had with Kameron. That sucks that Kenners got her too, but it's good she'll be switching and hopefully it will be better. By the way- what is the Ramada???
