this is the new gilbert lds temple being built. it's located about 5-10 minutes from our new house. we are so excited to be so close and to have a new temple in the valley. it will really help ease the burden on the mesa temple.
this temple holds a special place in kaisha & kerianne's hearts. at girls camp they were given a special necklace that had a rock attached to it. they were told to keep this necklace near at all times, to cherish, nurture & love it, and that at the end of camp it would change. this rock really took on a special meaning to them. they learned in the end that the rock hadn't actually changed, that they had changed. then they gave up their rocks as they would be included as part of the concrete mix for the temple foundation! our bishop tanner owns a concrete company that is providing the concrete for this temple. his wife diana is the stake camp director. so that's how this all began! the girls look at this beautiful building, and know that a small piece of them is embedded forever in it's foundation - such a great honor!
