This week has been wonderful! The kids are LOVING school. {Kameron & Kennedi} are at Kyrene de la Sierra (just referred to as "Sierra") -- Kam has Mrs. Zebatto for 5th grade and Kennedi has Mrs. Prather for 3rd. They are both fairly young teachers and have been at Sierra for about five years. The kids came home on Monday so excited, saying that they loved their teachers and were going to have a great year. We have awesome teachers : what a relief!!
{Kerianne} is doing well in 7th grade at Kyrene Altadena. She is recovering from a slight accident though! On our family hike Sunday morning she took a spill and really banged up both knees, an elbow, and her right palm (thank heaven she if left-handed!). I had to dig down in one knee to retrieve several rocks :( Anyway, it's difficult for her to walk, and therefore she hasn't been able to fully participate in PE. She has been placed in advanced math & language arts. Her AIMS test scores were really high in both areas. Hopefully they will keep her challenged!
It seems that {Kaisha} is really enjoying Desert Vista High School! I still cannot believe she is a Sophomore! She has really great friends (the twins, Alexis & Taylor, from our ward) and is meeting new ones every day. In seminary this year they are studying the Book of Mormon -- her homework is super easy as we are reading it as a family each night! She does have a couple of hard classes: Advanced Chemistry and Algebra 3-4. Oh boy, this math class is going to be fun! We are purchasing our first "graphing calculator" this weekend! If you're not familiar with this particular device, it is larger than your average calculator and comes at a price of $120!!!! Yikes! The class is actually a college course so she can receive credit with Rio Salado College {crap, is it really time to start thinking about college credits???}.
