saying goodbye...

The time has come to leave Maricopa. The decision has been difficult, but we really feel at peace with it. Kaisha & Kerianne, on-the-other-hand, are having a harder time coming to terms. We also know that moving closer in to town means prices go up, so we are sticking with a rental and have found a few in the areas we are interested in! We have been in Maricopa just shy of three years, and have made a lot of wonderful friends -- some are more like family than friends! We also love our ward family and our callings - making this decision all the more difficult. But we just can't justify being part of a disappointing, failing school district. Yes, all school districts (and schools, for that matter) have their shortcomings and problems, but nothing like we've experienced here in Maricopa. We were terrified last year to send Kaisha off to MHS and tossed around the idea of moving at that time, but decided to stick it out and see how things went. Well, she deserves better! I won't go into more detail - it would take all day! Our time frame is the end of May just after school lets out. Kaisha & Kerianne will get to come back and go to Girls Camp in July with this stake, which we are so grateful for. It will be a wonderful experience for them and they'll get to spend quality time with their friends. Through a lot of prayer, contemplation & research, we feel that the Lord is guiding us down this path and we must put our own fears & insecurities aside to do what's best for the kids. We absolutely believe that all things happen for a reason. So much has happened in the last couple of months that have confirmed this. We have resisted the promptings, but are now being reminded that we are not in charge - He is!

well, back to packing...

This is how much I don't like change: every time you move I have to tell myself that it's ok even though I'm familiar with your house and your town! Guess I won't be moving any time soon if I get anxious about you moving!
I'm happy for you though because I know how much you want this. Keep me updated.

:( We are SO SAD to see you go!!! Many wonderful new adventures await you, though, and the fabulous York family will be able to touch more people's lives. I am a bit envious you're getting out of the 'Copa. Hugs and love to you all.
