our birthday boy...

BIG DAY TODAY:
Kameron Scott is 10 years old!
He was born Tuesday, April 13, 1999 at 12:26 pm
at Cottonwood Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.
He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces
and was 21 inches long.
My parents and my sisters, Lori & Stacie,
were with us in the delivery room.
It was a big day for my Dad:
after having three daughters he was very
excited to have a little boy in the family!

Here are a few of my favorite pics from his first year:

blessing day - almost 3 weeks old
John and his baby boy at a Boise park
with Grandpa Scott - what a funny kid!
snoozing with Daddy
he loved his "bink" but would also suck his thumb
loving his first piece of licorice
licorice day (Kaisha 5-1/2, Kerianne 3)
our realtor loved to give him curls!
this is to prove to Kam that he LOVED mac & cheese!
(he will not touch it now)

Kameron was actually born three weeks early. I had a very high protein count and was starting to develop Kidney problems, so they felt it was best to take him. Early on in the pregnancy I was put on bed rest due to bleeding - I had had three miscarriages along with Kaisha & Keri by then, so it was a pretty stressful time. After getting through that, I worked full-time up until two weeks before he was born. Delivery day was fast & furious! We called in and they gave us the go ahead to come in, and we got there around 7:30am. I was induced and having contractions around 9:00am. It wasn't bad for about an hour, and then the fun started! I had an epidural and was finally comfortable. My family arrived and my Dad kept a close eye on the contraction monitor - he couldn't believe how strong they were and yet I couldn't feel anything! I believe I only pushed for a half-hour and by 12:26pm it was all over! Lori & Stacie were both crying - they were probably mortified by what they had just seen!
The following day was Kaisha's 5th birthday, so we packed up and headed home. It seriously felt like a "drive-through" delivery, but we had a birthday party planned for Kaisha and didn't want to disappoint her. I will have to admit that I was in so much pain (darn hemorrhoids!) that I spent the whole time curled up on the couch - medicated, of course!!! It was great, though, to be at home in my own bed, with my precious baby boy, and my helpful little girls.
I am so grateful to have a son. He is the light of our lives! I cannot believe how fast 10 years has flown by. It was fun to look through the old picture albums and see him as a baby again. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

We love you so much, Monkey-Boy!

Happy Birthday to Kam! We think he's awesome. He always makes us laugh and impresses us with his cool Lego creations and his sporting talents. How lucky my boys are to have him to look up to!

Oh little "Mini Me" of John. I still think he looks a lot like John but I also see a ton of your family too!
I love that you named him Scott too! It was so fitting.
Hope you had a great Birthday too Kam! Love and miss you!
