(we were in scottsdale, ya know!)

today we got up early and took the kids to the parade del sol in scottsdale (kaisha had to work so she didn't go, but kerianne's friend brooke had slept over so she filled in for kaish!).  we're trying to do something fun on saturdays.  we knew that our friend rick was going to be in the parade with his huge dog bo and the group of newfoundlands they belong to. we got there a little late and had to find parking, so we started watching at entry #10. rick and the dogs were entry #5 this year!  first year ever for them -- they're usually near the end!  so we sat through the whole parade, watching and waiting. half-way through we walked a little further down and could hear commentary about the entrants. we also sat across from a very interesting lady & her children!! she sure liked to twirl her batons -- and her son actually took his baton and swung it at a horse and was quickly scolded by a police office!!  livin' free & easy!!

after the parade we got in touch with rick and found they were resting at paradise bakery so we made our way over. it was nice to visit and enjoy a good lunch. the kids were amazed with bo! pictures coming soon...
