John has been working tirelessly for months on a refit program for Fresh & Easy. All this work has required a lot of travel -- aside from all the travel he already does! And now the refit has been launched.
John's boss Steve Ryder was so kind to send me these beautiful flowers as a thank you for hanging in there and supporting him. It made me feel so good -- and appreciated!

And the {fun} does not end there!Steve also suggested that John take me out on the town -- that we enjoy a nice dinner together. So, there's my HOT date!
Since I can fly free wherever John flies, and he had to head to Las Vegas for work, we decided to enjoy our date there. And for us: what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas!
So here you go...
We got all the kids off to school, flew over, had lunch, took care of work, cruised around Vegas, made sure the kids got home okay, and then had dinner. We had reservations at super fancy Hugo's Cellar. It was really like a cellar. You had to walk downstairs into it. They presented me with a long-stemmed rose, that they then put in a vase at our table, and that they wrapped afterwards so I could take home. We had three servers: one for beverages, one for our appetizer and salads, and our main course guy. They brought us delicious rolls & flatbreads with butter shaped as a huge rose; then John had Lobster bisque; then they made salads table side (to our own creation & liking); then we had a palate cleanser: tiny ice cream cone with a raspberry sorbet. I had ordered Filet Mignon and man, was it delish! Best piece of steak I have ever had! It was served over a divine brown gravy, and then there was a little dish of hollandaise sauce to smother it. Try it sometime -- it doesn't sound great, but it was heaven! After our meal they brought chocolate-covered strawberries, apricots & figs with a whipped cream, so we called that "dessert". We were so stuffed.
We would have done a bit of sightseeing, but had to run & catch our flight back home. We had such a great time. It was fun to get away for the day. It was fun to drive down the strip and see all the new growth. It was fun to celebrate John's accomplishments & hard work. It was fun to have my man -- all to myself ;-)
* I should have taken pics, but I didn't... ugh!

That sounds like so much fun!! Very nice of F&E to do that for you. You both deserved it!
Aimee that was not only fun but ROMANTIC!!! I think I'll try going to that restaurant SOME day. It is great to once in a while from all the kids and everyday stress (so they tell me) and if anybody deserves that, it is you.
OK, now all of a sudden I'm devilishly hungry! So glad y'all got a little R&R. It's nice to be appreciated:)
