The weather was so perfect on Saturday that we decided on a family day at the Zoo! And it seemed that everyone else in Phoenix had the same idea! We finally found a parking space (after waiting FOREVER for this weird lady to put her stroller in the trunk - long story...) and made our way in. We loved the Spider Monkey exhibit. You walk right in to their territory. They were adorable! Another favorite was the Lion - his Lioness wouldn't give him something, so he grunted and plopped down on his side, then put his leg up and went to sleep!! It was hilarious :) We also found a hummingbird by the Rhinos. Look close and you can see it in the picture with the orange flowers. And what do you think of the "sleepy Tiger"? Man, I could not have taken that picture at a more perfect time :)
We had such a great time. The kids were beat after all that walking. And it's funny because John, Kerianne and myself went on our weekend walk around Rancho that morning! The four mile loop around Rancho for me, but John and Ker strolled over through Cobblestone and then stopped for drinks at Walgreens. They were glad they did, because they got to see and chat with Sione Fa (friend that's on Biggest Loser right now)! He was out at yard sales with his daughter and stopped to talk. John says he looks {*amazing*} - go Sione!!!!
After the zoo we hit Cold Stone for a much deserved treat. It was so late in the day that we actually counted that as dinner ~ I know : we're awesome parents :o) Our kiddos are so amazing and adventurous and we love spending time with them.
