yep, it's a "monday"...

I hope today isn't an indication as to how well our entire week is going to turn out:

I took Kaisha to Seminary at 6am, came home and crawled back in to my nice cozy bed for another 30 mins. of blissful sleep, then got back up at 7am to get the remainder of my sleepy ones up. I am pulling Kennedi's covers back when I look over and notice that Midnight's cage door is WIDE OPEN! And she is nowhere to be found.

I started to panic, and here's why: last night John and I were up pretty late, which I guess was just the perfect time for Midnight to be running like a mad-hamster on her wheel and driving me crazy! So I took her out and let her run around for a while thinking it would wear her out. When I put her back, I put her in the top thinking that maybe she would stay up there and go to sleep. I am "pretty" sure that I closed the cage door, but cannot actually be sure because remember that I put her up top...

So, here we are this morning, already running late, searching and calling out for Midnight! Kennedi wasn't as upset as I thought she would be. The bad thing was that they still needed to get ready for school, school lunches needed to be made, and they needed to be out the door by 7:35!

They bought lunch today :o)

John was up now looking in all the same places that I had already looked, and wouldn't-you-know-it, he finds her behind the dryer! Up in the little alcove where the hose connects.

She looked scared!

I almost cried!

That little stinker...

I felt bad that Kennedi went to school not knowing the fate of her baby, but that little turkey, do you know what she said to me before leaving?

"Mom, if we can't find Midnight, will you buy me that cute little gray hamster instead?"

The little dwarf hamster that she almost bought instead of Midnight!

I'm so grateful that John was home today to help with the search & rescue. It could have turned out bad, and I don't know how I would've handled not having that little gal around. Just look how happy she makes this little one:

On the brighter side today, John and Kameron are at the Ariz. Cardinals game right now. An Architect invited them and I'm pretty sure they're having a blast. They took my camera along - I hope there's some great pics to post!

One thing I don't have a picture of is John's ripped shorts!! Picture this: He and I are on the patio ~ he's spraying it off with the hose ~ we hear helicopters flying right overhead ~ we both look up ~ he drops the hose, which lands on the handle ~ while looking up, I'm now being sprayed in the face ~ I think the choppers are dropping nerve gas or something ~ I'm stunned, and it shows ~ Kaisha's inside watching, laughing hysterically at my expression ~ John steps forward to grab the hose, and his flip flops slip on the wet concrete ~ he gets the hose, but because he's almost falling on his butt, drops it again ~ the hose is now spraying straight at Lexi, who is just tryin' to do her business ~ she's annoyed ~ then John turns around and shows Kaisha and I his rear end ~ she and I are both laughing hysterically ~ his shorts are torn all the way down the back ~ I nearly pee my pants (pattern here? I may need to see a dr!). What would we do without Big Daddy around? I believe he came inside and threw the shorts away, probably afraid that I'd get a hold of them and take a picture for this here blog! I wouldn't do THAT, but there's no way I'm not going to post about it :o) Sorry, baby!
