We have a new addition in our garage: our new Tahoe! And it even fits in the garage (whereas the Suburban was way too long), plus it's newer than John's Altima, so the Altima has been given the boot out to the driveway!! It's okay, though, because the Altima thinks it's home is Sky Harbor parking garage :o)We loved the Suburb - she was good to us. She survived two moves across the country (from Boise to Pennsylvania and then PA to Arizona). She did give out on us during our move here, just outside Arizona. The a/c went out and it was June and the temps were crazy - 110 at midnight! What an experience. Anyway, we got her fixed but she just didn't function as good. If you were running the a/c you needed to be driving for it to work! If you stopped (say, at a stop light or to sit in line at the school to pick up the kids, or in a drive-through) the cold air would trade for hot! And then after accelerating, it would gradually cool down. It was completely MISERABLE!
There was also the time where the fuel pump was going out, and you just never knew when she'd give up and die. It happened to me! On the 347! John had to come to my rescue.
John and I had talked about trading her in, but we were hesitant. We only had another year-and-a-half of payments and didn't want to extend back out to five or six. Then all the great car deals came along. We went in to do some test driving and picked out a super cool Tahoe, with all the bells and whistles. In the end, it ended up not being the one for us - who really needs all that stuff anyway? And the price, even with discounts, was ridiculous. We were able to get the Chevy Employee Pricing, plus another huge discount on top of that. What a great time to buy a new car - when the next year's line is coming out!
We are so happy with our new rig! The a/c works right away when you start it up. That right there is worth it! We have OnStar for a year and we love the XMradio. How did we survive without that? We do miss having heated seats and a sunroof - but those really aren't necessary living in the desert :o)
