kerianne volunteered for a service project last weekend. she had to be up before the crack of dawn, which is a fete in and of itself for her! she headed out with the YW leaders at 6am. our ward had participated in buying gifts for refugees who arrive here with nothing. we bought gifts for a 9-yr old girl and 7-yr old boy. then everything was gathered together at a location downtown. this is where keri was heading - to load everything up and deliver to the families. a little after 7am she sends me a text: "I'm gonna be on tv!!!" we turned on the news right away and started recording and i woke everyone else in the house. i sent her a text at 7:23am saying "We see you!!!!!!!!!" she was front and center in her green hoodie! she was carrying a blue bag full of gifts and walked right up close to the camera. we were sooooooo excited! i quickly tweeted the picture: "my baby girl is on TV!!! you look fab!" which she re-tweeted minutes later!
we are not only proud of her for stepping up and volunteering to do this, because she really does love her sleep on the weekends (we rarely see her before 2pm!), but also proud that her goodness and kind heart were witnessed by many people. she has so much compassion, and great character. i'll never forget the day she became a {celebrity}...
