in a matter of a week because of this...we have a little egg nursery going on in our flower planter on the patio! this momma quail has laid eight eggs now! we haven't seen her around until today -- she was laying on the eggs in the flowers. we all wanted a look and some wanted pictures, but she became spooked and flew, scaring the bejeebers out of us!! later on she was back, keeping her babies warm. it is so neat to see the kids head out back first thing in the morning for an "egg count"!! we are excited to watch this process and see little quail babies running around.
