Today seemed to fly by so fast. John had been in Cali all week but flew home this morning. He had a lot of work to do in town so I didn't see him until after I got off work. We met up at F&E to get our grub for dinner. And this year, in lieu of cake and ice cream, he chose mixed berry cheesecake with whipped cream! Yummy :) When serving it up, we realized that we didn't have even one single birthday candle in this whole house! He improvised and used a lighter! The kids gave him some amazing cards, and Miss Kennedi bought him a special birthday gift (with her own $): a daddy and baby hippo! It was precious! It is to remind him of all their good times together -- like daddy-daughter dates -- and that he is a special daddy that won't eat his young (you know, like we learn on Planet Earth that male hippo's tend to be threatened by their young and then eat them!). Oh, the mind of a child. The rest of us gave him an amazing sculpture of a biker on a motorcycle -- which is something John misses badly! One day, sweetie! It was a good day and we're so thankful he was able to come home and let us spend it with him. I just can't imagine him being out there all alone on his special day -- not gonna happen!!! John works so hard for us, and provides everything we need, and we appreciate all that he does. His job is not easy, and he sacrifices so much, and it will all be worth it very soon. Thank you, my love, for being everything I always dreamed of. You are an amazing husband and father -- and my best friend :)
