date with my girl...

Last Saturday, Kaisha and I went on a date. We both really needed a break. After she got home from babysitting, we were outta-here! She was craving Boston Market, so off we went for dinner. Then we hit Ikea and she bought herself this amazing picture of Paris and the Eiffel Tower (it's huge - takes up half a wall in her bedroom). I bought her some shelves for her room and they look great. Then we drove to Tempe Marketplace (huge new shopping center) and stopped to buy her some new clothes at Old Navy. She also NEEDED new shoes (of course!) which she bought. Then we decided to see a movie - Taken. It's about a teenage girl that takes a trip to Paris with her friend and they end up being "taken" and face a terrible fate. Her father, who was some sort of secret agent, rushes to find her before it's too late and she's gone forever. It was a great movie. Kaisha wants so terribly to visit Paris someday and I'm sure she learned a lot from seeing this movie - you just can't trust anyone. After the movie we stopped for a {fourth meal} at Yum Yum China! And I just have to say that every time we walk past there, we take their sample of Orange Chicken and say how delicious it it, but never go in and try them out. Their name is a huge turn off, I guess! But we did it: we went in and ordered and think they are sooooo much better than Panda Express (it's more sweet than spicey). Try them out if you haven't already fallen in love with them. It was so nice to take some time and reconnect with Kaish. I love spending time with her. We talk, and laugh, and cry! I know that it's important to have one-on-one time with your kids, and let them know how special and loved they are. Thanks for the date Kaish - can't wait for the next...
