back online...

I've been offline and out-of-touch this whole week, but my laptop is finally back! Sometime last week I caught a virus. Ugh! Don't think I'll be letting the kids play games on here anymore :o) John took it into the office to have IT fix it up. He was only supposed to be gone Monday evening through Tuesday evening, but had to unexpectedly extend another night. And it was TORTURE! Not just having him gone most of the week, but not having my "lifeline"!! Got a lot of things done around the house...

Temps down here have been in the 80s. It's almost depressing to be outside in the middle of January and be sweating! We haven't used the heater for a few weeks now, and I was almost tempted to switch the a/c on yesterday. It's so hard to just open windows because of all the dirt/dust. And you cannot leave those windows open at night here in Maricopa (cow-poop-ville!). The kids love being outside, riding bikes, hanging out in the tree across the street. But it's starting to feel like summer already, and we're not excited...

We have a guest spending the weekend with us. Our friend, Tavia Olsen, is getting married and her daughter Colette is staying with us while Tavia is in Arkansas with her fiance. We're excited to have her. She is a great friend of Kaisha's. We also have Kam's baseball tryouts on Saturday. Danny Hunsaker, our good friend from the 1st ward, is coaching in minors and itching to get his hands on Kam! He was trying to talk Kameron into not pulling out "all his guns" at the tryout and showing all the coaches what he's made of, so Danny can snag him first! That was a huge compliment for Kam. We'll see what happens...

Well, we are one step closer to Kaisha's orthodontia adventures! She had an evaluation this week and will go in for her first appt. in a couple weeks. We're in for a long 28 months! They are going to have to manipulate her bottom jaw, so she'll wear these metal bars in the back of her mouth that will push the jaw forward, forcing the jaw to continue growing in where it should, for about a year. We were told that this is what "head gear" was used for back in the day! Thank heaven's for technology! She's opted for clear braces which will look great. She'll have those on the whole time. She's going to look completely different in a couple years - just what she has wanted for a long time! Looks like we've actually put down roots, at least for the next two years...
