Smoked sausages (and burgers)...

John and I were having dinner one night at Z-Tejas on Ray Rd., and as we came out we noticed a small trickle of smoke coming up from the roof of TGI Friday across the street. It appeared to be from the kitchen, and the patrons seemed calm as they exited the restaraunt. We thought "oh wow, that doesn't look good." We meandered down the road to f&e to do some shopping, and came back to see how the fire was doing. And this is was the scene...

It was a huge grease fire, and man, did it smell BAD! We took a few pictures and then headed for home. So, a couple weeks later we passed by with the kids to show them the destruction. The building still sits like this today:

We are so happy that we didn't choose to eat at TGIF that night. Well, on second thought: it would have been awesome to have been there, just finishing our dinner and about to get the check, and have them scream "FIRE!" Hmmm....

Okay, that was totally crazy that you were right there to get some action shots! I just drove by there today and they cleared out all the rubble, I think they're going to start rebuilding!
