Being so new to the area, we weren't quite sure what to do for the fourth. Our new ward was having a big breakfast with the Crestridge Ward at a nearby park so we went to socialize and enjoy breakfast. We were able to see and chat with the Secrists as they're in Crestridge. There was a huge spread of fruits, breads, potato casseroles, sausage, and pancakes colored red, white& blue! We met so many nice people and received several invitations to join people for meals and fireworks.
We ended up going to the Pace's home for dinner and swimming. Kam & Kenners swam but kept to themselves. John had a good time getting to know all the guys. But Kerianne & I were still feeling a little reserved and quite.
Later that night we were invited to the Gazdik's home for fireworks on their patio. It overlooks the whole Los Angeles valley. We could see the ocean to the west clear over to the Long Beach harbor to the east. There were about 20 firework shows across the valley, including Disneyland! And we could see the local show out on the ocean at RAT beach. It was a pretty surreal experience - amazing sights and sounds. We got to know the Gazdik and Scow families.
It was a long and eventful day!
Our view for fireworks. There was a bit of fog coming in from the ocean but we could still see very well.
We want to head to the beach next year to see the whole show!
