halloween this year was so different... i'd just had surgery and was not fully-functioning yet. i feel horrible now, as i didn't even get a picture of the kids - first year ever, i believe =(
the kids carved pumpkins the weekend before halloween.
they got pretty creative...

the pumpkins quickly turned moldy and caved -- but they ended up carving a second set! for trick-or-treating i drove them to the street of a young couple in our ward who make cotton candy for the kids. they were pretty excited about this! then they walked all the way home - bagging a TON of candy!
i was at home but didn't turn on the porch light, as i wasn't up for handing out candy. more importantly i didn't want to deal with boi freaking out at the doorbell & people!
the kids made it home, and as with tradition, rang the bell to get more candy! john turned on the porch light to greet them, and right then some kids were walking passed and ran up to get their share! those were our only trick-or-treaters!
kerianne & kameron dressed up as "eggs & bacon" and kennedi was a police officer. i had big plans this year of spending some actual money on costumes, but being out of work for a month shattered that dream. the kids did have a small budget to work with - but c'mon... eggs & bacon???!!!
