christmas & catching up...

I'm not doing so good with blogging! Sounds like another "resolution" needs to be made! I still need to download a few pictures from Christmas, but wanted to journal real quick.

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. The kids were happy to get pretty much everything they so nicely asked for. John and I were even able to spend a little on each other, and we all had fun with our secret family gift exchange -- always a hit! We devoured honey baked ham and sour cream potatoes for lunch and dinner. Yummmmmmm :)

The biggest hit of the holiday has to be the new Wii -- "Wii" are in love! Well, John and the kids are -- I haven't tried my hand at it yet. What can I say: I get embarrassed! We are also enjoying a new LG flat screen :) It was waaaaaayyyy over due! Our old big screen took a turn for the worst a couple years ago, and turned into a big ol' stand for a smaller one. We were sick of it -- but realized that we could buy a brand new one with the latest technology for the same $ that it would cost to fix the old one. Can you say "yard sale"!

John was able to use up a week's worth of vacation to be here with the kids last week. I had to work, so it was nice for them to have him here. But let's be honest: by Wednesday he was going CRAZY and needed to get out of the house! How does a stay-at-home Mom do it, I say?!

New Year's Eve around here was not too exciting! Kaisha went to a stake dance with Alexis, and the rest of us just hung out. We stayed up late eating ooey-gooey popcorn and watched the festivities on tv at midnight. Kennedi fell asleep, poor little thing! She was upset the next morning when she realized she'd missed "it" -- "it" was pretty much witnessing J.Lo in her nude colored body spandex (uh, that channel changed real quick)!

We're all happy that school is back in and we're back in routine. Kaisha's social life has really picked up -- she's having fun spending time with Dylan and her friends. She is also doing really well with her driving "practice". This is John's area -- I'm a total stress case! Kerianne is also a little social butterfly! She's going to sleepovers, having them here, excited to spend time with her friend Sutherlan that just returned from a trip throughout Europe with her parents. I have been called to teach Primary in our ward -- the nine year olds. I have about twelve in my class. Ugh! It will be a good experience. I'm actually excited to be out of Relief Society -- I have never felt like I belong there for some reason!!! My work is going great. I have just passed the probationary period (3 months) and will have a review soon. I'm excited that they're taking me salary and that they feel I'm a good asset. There have been a few stressful days and situations, and times that I question why I am even out there working, but I'm sure that's normal. John is working so hard. He may be heading up to Boise soon, and we ALL want to go with him! We miss Boise (I know, you do too, Lori!). Uh, who witnessed BSU kickTCU's butt in the Fiesta Bowl? WE DID!! Woohoo ~ go Broncos!

That's about all I can handle for now. I can hear the Tempur-Pedic calling my name!!!

Sounds like fun! That's funny-- the kids & Darren are in love with the Wii, too! Congrats on the new calling!
