Entrepreneurs!

On Monday (Memorial Day) the kids conjured up the idea of selling lemonade and used golf balls to the golfers passing by. Well, it was only Kerianne, Kameron and Kennedi, since Kaisha slept in pretty late (one of those late-night sleepovers where they stayed up until 4am!). Since I do not have a creative bone in my body, John took the reigns and helped them plan and shop for supplies. They made signs and shined up the golf balls, and then sat out in the HOT sun all day :o)
Their first sell was to a couple of guys that pulled over in a Hummer, wondering in amazement how we could end up with that many golf balls in our backyard when we're up near the t-box! Actually, some of them were found but the rest came from John's golf bag! The kids were off to a great start already. By the end of the day, they walked away with $50 to split between them, and had enough to pay Dad back for the lemonade.
They were so excited when people would pay them a few dollars for one single cup of lemonade instead of the $.50 asking price, and surprised when a group of golfers bought four cups and a handful of golf balls for the guys coming through behind them! Needless to say the guys politely turned it down (pretty sure it was a practical joke!).
I have to admit that John and I would get pretty excited when we'd see a car pull over. We have great kids ;o)
