our sweet kaisha marie graduated from desert vista high school on thursday, may 24, 2012. we had a lot of family and friends come by to celebrate with us. we chowed down an early dinner at our home: many of kaisha's favorite foods:
grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni salad, small franks in bbq sauce, fruit kabobs, frozen lemonade pies...
we enjoyed chatting & laughing with everyone before the big event. then we all drove over to ahwatukee to the high school. the temperature was nice, not too hot, with a bit of a breeze. everything was set up so nice.
sadly, the day before graduation, pat quinn, the high school security guard and friend to many, was found dead on this track. he had been running early in the morning and was also helping set up for graduation and had a heart attack. this tragedy rocked the school and entire community. every day throughout the school year, he was there directing traffic into the school drop off lot. he smiled & waved at everyone! he would also sit in that same area throughout the day as students & visitors passed through. kaisha saw him everyday heading over to seminary. he was a wonderful man and is greatly missed. there were many kinds words said about him at graduation. donations were also accepted at the exits to help his family. the school really won't be the same without him.
