not getting better...

John has been sick for over a week now. He was in California last week and had a touch of a cold, and the constant coughing was beginning to hurt his shoulders (he has some shoulder issues due to a car accident many years ago). Then he starts in with the ear trouble! I knew right then that he needed to see a doctor. He was going to be in CA all week, then back there the beginning of this week, with a trip to Boston tomorrow and Friday. I knew he needed to get in early enough to kick it before his big trip to Boston (that is one loooong flight to be on with ear pain). I got online and found him an Urgent Care Center a couple blocks from his hotel. Does he go? No! He's a guy and doesn't want to give in, or something like that! And you should see him now -- a week later!!!

Since Saturday he's been at our local Urgent Care Center three times. I'm pretty sure he's headed back there again this morning. He accidentally pulled the wick out that they inserted yesterday.

Why won't men just listen to their wives? We have a natural instinct! We know when it's time to seek medical attention! I don't know how we know, we just do! I recall John saying last week, "If I don't get better soon, you're going to do the 'told-you-so dance', right?" And you're darn right! I feel horrible for feeling that way, for not being more nurturing and understanding. I just don't get why he didn't believe me! And right there is my other problem: why can't I let it go already? Be loving and patient and more positive? The damage is already done and I keep picking at the "scab"!

I'm sorry you're not doing well, Sweetie. I wish I could be with you instead of at work. I wish I had been more understanding -- when you didn't listen to me! We've been together for 22 years now -- can you just trust me?!!! I love you :)

:( Sorry he's sick! It seems with all the traveling Darren did this past year, he was sick a lot. New germs, less sleep, and more stress make for a bad combination. Feel better!
{And yes, wives are ALWAYS right:}
