We are finally in Ahwatukee!!!! I cannot even express how excited we are (I don't know: maybe you can tell!). The move went well. Our landlords, Chuck & Lucille, gave us the key early to start moving things over, so we pretty much had most of the house moved last week. We just had the beds, table, t.v., and heavy furniture to move on Saturday. That morning was also Kam's final baseball game. It was a {C-R-A-Z-Y} day! We got everything here and unloaded, got dinner, then John and I headed back to return the U-haul and clean the Van Loo house. We were there late. As soon as we got home, Kam took me by the hand and led me to our bedroom. I had to close my eyes, and then I saw the most beautiful thing ever: he had made our bed for us!! Sheets, pillowcases, comforter, pillows - the works! It was heavenly -- and I cried :) That was the best gift - he must have known how exhausted we were. We showered and dove right in...

Here's a life lesson for ya : Don't sit out in the sun and bake the day before you move :) That's just what happened to Kaisha! She babysat Taylor for the last time on Friday, and took Rachel with her, and they spent the whole day in the pool. They claim they had sunscreen on, but I found out that they didn't "reapply" it throughout the day. They looked like lobsters! Then, Kaish went to Kam's game and the top of her legs burned! It was quite funny - but poor girl :) She had a really hard time helping out, but she's really tan now!!!

On Sunday, we drove back out to Maricopa to meet up at the Van Loo house for the inspection, and to switch out our dryer outlet. We then went to sacrament meeting to see friends and say good-bye. It actually felt strange to be out there! Like Ahwatukee is our "home" now :) We're now excited to attend our new ward, and start over again...

A little about our landlords: they're from Long Island, NY; they're Italian; they're Catholic and pray for us at Mass; they're real estate agents; Chuck is a retired Detective, who still gets called in on special assignments; their son is a Phoenix officer; they brought us an amazing homemade dinner on Sunday night - rigatoni's, meatballs & sausage; they're very protective of us and feel like family! Chuck is my go-to guy when John is out-of-town, or when someone (like the DirecTV guy, grrrr!) gives me trouble!! We adore them and I'll have to post sometime about how we came to meet them...

Glad that the move went well. You should be able to do the moving on auto pilot by now! That is so cool that your landlords brought you dinner. They sound really nice. Can't wait to come see the new place- it's tradition you know!
I am so sad you guys are gone! Not that we ever saw you here anyway, right? lol
